Christmas Around the World

We did a school project by researching the way Christmas is celebrated around the World with our homeschooling friends. Cooper researched how they celebrate in Pakistan, they say, "Bara Din" which means Big or Great day. Spencer researched how they celebrate in Holland with Sinterklaas. He sails into the ports of Amsterdam with his friend Black Peter, who chases all the children who have been naughty with his stick. Then Bryce, researched the Netherlands and they have some fun traditions there. Jul God means Merry Christmas. They also have a porridge eating contest where they must find a single almond in their porridge. Porridge is very important to their celebrations, because they put it out for Nissy, the havoc causing dwarf. So we had a porridge-eating-contest at my house. My son won the contest this time, and he will be receiving a Marza Pan Pig from Sis. McQuivey. See the pictures of them finding their almond.
